Embroidery. Flower pattern after an Italian pillow case

This pattern is based on an Italian pillow case dated to 16th century from the collection of the Whitworth Art Gallery.

The size of the pattern is 92х92 stitches.

The contours are meant to be embroidered using Holbein stitch. Alternatively, specific elements or the whole pattern can be embroidered in any counted thread embroidery technique.

Please take notice of the position of the leaves on the sides of smaller flowers. The central section is drawn after the original and therefore isn’t symmetrical, but its halves are mutually replaceable.
