This band is one of two parts of my very first experiment with tablet weaving. The band is woven based on instructions by Sarah Goslee (aka Phiala) using soft cardboard tablets. Surprisingly, weaving took a very short time to complete. Can’t not stop weaving ever since.
Size: width 2 cm, woven length 1 m, full length 135 cm.
Materials: warp – thick cotton yarn, weft – cotton sewing thread.
Technique: threaded-in, 10 tablets, 4 turns forward, 4 back.
Creation date: May 2001.
