The final 20 centimetres were woven without the spreader (it’s currently back with the craftsman for a bit of refinement), and once again I was reminded just how quickly we get used to good tools. Without the spreader, progress slowed noticeably. On top of that,

Got the new tools today that I ordered at Martinmas Fair: These are wooden bobbins for long warp that will allow to unwind the desired length instead of moving the weights every time I move the warp. 🙂 Very happy with them and will put

Two kids, not quite well, but rather energetic, are not exactly helping the weaving process. 😀 Not much more to weave though. 71 cm done, probably around 35-37 cm to weave. Have to go get some more weft thread as I ran out of this

Now almost 30 cm woven: It’s the names next. Had to unweave a few times to fix mistakes or catch some warp threads that decided to walk on their own. A tiny error remains as I had noticed it too late, but thankfully that one

16 cm woven at the moment. Based on the first pattern element, the average density of the weaving is about 4,8 rows per cm, which mans that the final band should come to about 117 cm. As can be seen on the photo, the warp
