I\u2019m not sure if the middle rose is just a particularly unlucky motif, or if my mind was simply elsewhere all day yesterday – but I ended up unpicking the same section three times. First, on the last row of petals, the outlines went off in opposite directions instead of closing neatly. Unpicking a couple of rows didn\u2019t fix it, so I had to go back even further and resort to the barbaric method – rotating the tablets one by one to find the correct shed, then dropping them down in pairs until I reached the spot I needed. Turned out I\u2019d skipped a weft pass somewhere around the middle of the petal, which threw everything one pick off. Once the petals were back in place, I noticed one of the threads went wandering on the reverse side. That meant undoing a few rows again to weave it back in. And to top it off, I skipped a row in the leaf motif. \ud83d\udc7f Fingers crossed this little saga doesn\u2019t continue today\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n

Half of the pattern motifs are now woven – 48 cm so far – but it\u2019s still nowhere near the halfway point in terms of length, as the second name is much longer than the first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
