Vanimad n\u00e4ited on dateeritud erinevate allikate j\u00e4rgi kas 13. v\u00f5i 14. sajandi algusesse. Algselt tikiti selles stiilis vaid sakraalesemetele, kuid umbes 15. sajandi keskpaigast lisandub tasapisi ka ilmalikke esemeid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Assisi<\/em> stiil j\u00e4i kasutusse v\u00e4ga pikaks ajaks, kuid ei olnud eriti populaarne. Pea iga raamat selle tehnika ajaloost algab Aragoni Katariina elulooga, kellest sai Henry VIII esimene naine peale seda, kui suri tema esimene abikaasa ja Henry vend. Stiili inglisekeelne nimetus \u2013 <em>counted thread<\/em> \u2013 ja selle t\u00e4pne t\u00f5lge \u201cloendatud koel\u00f5ngadega tikand\u201d pole t\u00e4psed, kuna loendatud koel\u00f5ngadega tehnikateks nimetatakse tervet r\u00fchma tehnikaid alates ristpiste variatsioonidest kuni varajase musta tikandini Holbeini pistes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stiili omap\u00e4raks on geomeetrilised ornamendid, mis on tikitud paralleelsete pistetega loendatud koel\u00f5ngade j\u00e4rgi (ingliskeesed nimetused <em>satin stitch<\/em> ja <em>brick stitch<\/em> k\u00e4ivad vastavalt \u00fchese v\u00f5i kahese piste kohta). K\u00f5ige klassikalisem on tehnika variant, kus enamus pistetest on sama pikad (tavaliselt \u00fcle 4 koel\u00f5nga) ja \u00fcksteise suhtes \u00fche koel\u00f5nga v\u00f5rra nihkes. L\u00fchemaid (\u00fcle 2 l\u00f5nga) ja pikemaid (\u00fcle 6 ja harva \u00fcle 8 l\u00f5nga) pisteid kasutatakse harva konkreetsete elementide loomiseks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Palju keerulisem ja t\u00f6\u00f6mahukam tehnika t\u00fc\u00fcp on mosaiik, kus muster kujuneb diagonaalselt asetsevatest ruutudest, milledest iga\u00fcks koosneb 5 pistest \u2013 \u00fchest pikast (\u00fcle 6 koel\u00f5nga) keskel ja kahest pistest (\u00fcle 4 ja \u00fcle 2 l\u00f5nga) sellest m\u00f5lemal pool.
